The Success Story of ICEDU 2018

The 4th International Conference on Education 2018 was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka together with collaborations of the University of Northern Colorado, United States as the Hosting Partner and Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania as the academic partner of the conference.

Inauguration Ceremony 

The conference was held on 5th – 7th April 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. ICEDU 2018 was organized under the theme “Education: Sharing Knowledge, Building Dreams” and was chaired by Prof. Eugene P. Sheehan, Dean and Professor of Psychological Sciences College of Education and Behavioral Sciences University of Northern Colorado, USA.

The opening remarks of ICEDU 2018 were made by Prof. Eugene P. Sheehan (Conference Chair) together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management). The website of ICEDU 2019 was launched at the inauguration ceremony.

Keynote Forum

Key note forum was the one of the most significant moments during the conference and it was enlightened by the key note speech on “Human Capital and Innovations in Education” by Dr. Alexander Sidorkin, Dean at California State University, USA. The second keynote speech was delivered by Associate. Prof. Montree Yamkasikorn, Teacher Professional Development Institute (TPDI), Ministry of Education, Thailand.

Students’ Gathering and Publication workshop

The conference was delighted and graced by two special features respectively Publication Workshop and youth gathering. The Perspective of the publication workshop is a Guide to Getting Published (GGP) and the workshop was facilitated by Dr. Alexander Sidorkin, Dean at California State University, USA.

The student gathering had been facilitated by Dr. Alexander Sidorkin and the occasion were enriched by plenty of insights from participants. Discussion was conducted on how to identify key features of a good research question while mainly focusing on,

  • What makes a good research question?
  • How do real researchers come up with their questions?

Students got the opportunity to create their own research questions on get the feedback and develop their research ideas

Technical Sessions

The conference comprised of twenty four technical sessions and a poster session where researchers from around the world presented their research findings. There were 6 main technical sessions. The technical sessions as follow.

  2. Effective technology in the classroom
  3. Innovative educational practices
  4. Learning science
  5. Assessment and reliability
  6. Working with diverse populations

More than 100 Participants

ICEDU 2018 provided a solid platform for over 100+ researchers, stake holders and policy makers from across the globe to share their research findings with one another and to discuss the policy implications. The conference provided a refreshing experience for all, especially for the young researchers who had the opportunity to share their research findings on an international platform. The conference was enlightened by international researches representing following Nations.
