Dra. Wilsa Maria Ramos has more than 17 years of experience as a high school teacher with PhD in Developmental Psychology in the Faculty of Psychology, University of Brasília.  Has developed national projects for Ministry of Education to prepare teachers for elementary school using ICT. And worked also do Work and Economic Ministry to development one Virtual School for workers in Brazil, like a MOOC. She develops research and consultancies in the interface of the areas of Psychology and Learning mediated by technologies, with emphasis on the following topics: design of methodologies for the implementation of online programs, processes of development and learning mediated by ICT. She is one of the coordinators of the Tordesilhas International Doutoral Collaboration Agreement between the PGPDE and the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Barcelona. Researched mainly on the following topics: subjectivity and production of subjective meanings to online students; life trajectories of learning, teaching and learning in times of pandemic. Author of articles and chapters on these themes. The last 10 years she worked as a partner as Interuniversity Postgraduate Degree in Educational Psychology – Master of Educational Psychology, MIPE and the Interuniversity Doctorate of Educational Psychology, DIPE, Barcelona – Spain, ​​where she is currently a visiting professor. In 2022, she is developing a research about the implications of the pandemic in the learning of post-graduation students from the Theory of Subjectivity.

SPEECH TITLE: “VOCATIONAL TRAINING BETWEEN LABOUR MARKET ORIENTATION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES”

BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Dr. phil. Steffen Kersten has been working in teaching and research at Dresden University of Technology for more than 30 years. In 1989 he completed his study course in electrical engineering and vocational pedagogy. Until the end of the year 1992, he worked at the Department of “logic and methodology of teaching practice” (Prof. Harald Zimmer). Since 1993 he has been working in the field of didactics of vocational education and engineering education. Prof. Kersten successfully completed his doctoral thesis with very good results in 1995. The designing of teaching and learning processes based on theory of action, the development of requirement oriented curricula, the development of evaluation tools for vocational education and engineering education and requirements on teaching staff in engineering education are in the focus of his application oriented research. In addition to his educational studies, he has gained very extensive university teaching experience through his teaching duties.

Prof. Kersten has collected a lot of experiences in field of international development work in the last 25 years. He coordinated research and development projects in Vietnam, Central Asia, Kenya and Chile. In his academic career, Prof. Kersten has realized numerous visiting professorships and visiting lectures at international universities (Hanoi University of Technology, University of Technology and Education Ho Chi Minh City, Beijing Institute of Technology, Yogyakarta State University).

In the Saxon educational Prof. Kersten has been involving in the scientific discussion on appropriate concepts of teacher training for many years. He is dean of studies in the Faculty of Education.

In the area of engineering education, he is working successfully in the field of engineering didactics. He is member of the International Society of Engineering Padegogy (IGIP) and Vice President of the Scientific Society for Engineering Education (IPW).

BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Dr. Edward Roy Krishnan has been a disruptive force in the field of international education for the past 20 years. He is passionate about making education accessible, affordable, industry-relevant, and brain-friendly. Leveling the playing field, and creating opportunities for marginalized people throughout the world, is his top priority and agenda. It was with this mission in mind, that he founded and leads the European International University, EIU-Paris (eiu.ac). He is currently the Director General of EIU-Paris. He is also the founding director of EIU’s Innovative Technology and Blockchain-powered online learning platform called Pedagog (pedagog.ac). He believes that technology has the potential to make education more accessible and inclusive while cutting unnecessary overheads and costs. Affordable education does not mean cheap or low-quality education. It means we remove unnecessary barriers resulting from very high fees. The conference theme “Equitable Education in the Post-Pandemic World” is a theme that resonates closely with what EIU-Paris and Pedagog intend to address through their day-to-day operations, strategic plans, and global influence.

SPEECH TITLE: “ROLL FOR LEARNING: WHAT GAMES CAN TEACH US ABOUT TEACHING IN A POST-PANDEMIC WORLD”
BIOGRAPHY

Matthew Farber, Ed.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Northern Colorado, where he founded the Gaming SEL Lab. He has been invited to the White House, authored several books and papers, and is a frequent collaborator with UNESCO MGIEP and Games for Change. His most recent book is “Gaming SEL: Games as Transformational to Social and Emotional Learning.” His research focuses on gaming as a form of multimodal literacy and how meaning-making during gameplay can cultivate social and emotional learning (SEL) skills. Games are practice spaces to play with social emotions. In some games, players collaborate to solve mutual goals. Many other games engage players in perspective-taking, where they may develop virtual empathy through taking agency of digital avatars.

Much of his work includes multiple collaborations with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), a category one research institute headquartered in New Delhi, India. Its mission—which aligns with his research agenda—is to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.7: “Education for building peaceful and sustainable societies across the world by developing programs that promote social and emotional learning with innovative digital pedagogies that empower youth.”

Dr. Chee Ken Nee has more than 12 years of experience as a high school teacher with PhD in Educational Technology in the Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, Malaysia. He was Top 30 Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert in Malaysia in 2020. Previously, he worked at a high performing secondary school as a teacher and then was promoted previously as Assistant Director at Educational Technology and Resources Division, Ministry of Education, Malaysia. Hence, Know a lot of the issues in the educational industry. Currently, he is a senior lecturer in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. He is also a registered professional Technologist under Malaysian Board of Technologist with title Ts. Apart from that, he is a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has experience as a part-time lecturer in Universiti Malaya as well. He has published 10 quality journal papers with ISI-indexed and scopus-indexed. His research interest focuses on mobile learning, educational technology, and computer-based learning as well as design and develops mobile learning environments and applications. He would also like to examine how it can affect the student in many ways. Innovation in teaching and learning also became his interest recently especially in this pandemic era. His research H-index is 6 with 310 citations in just 6 years. With humble, he was one of the winners of the Global Teacher Award 2020. He is a reviewer for many ISI and Scopus indexed journals. He was also a jury for many prestigious innovation competitions at international and national level such as United Kingdom. Previously, he had been a speaker in virtual international conference in United States of America, and as keynote speaker in Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Austria.

Dr. Emad A. S. Abu-Ayyash achieved his Ph.D in Education/TESOL from the British University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2016, his M.A. degree in translation from Yarmouk University, Jordan in 2007 and his B.A. degree in English literature and linguistics from Yarmouk University, Jordan in 1996. He currently holds the position of assistant professor in the faculty of education at the British University in Dubai. Professor Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani

BIOGRAPHY

Professor Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani is a seasoned Professor, educationist and expert with 27 years of experience in research, academics, faculty management and administration. He has overseen multidisciplinary research teams, faculty, and academics and has demonstrated outstanding leadership in Research, Distance Education, and Program Designing and Faculty management.

Besides his long history as distinguished Professor, Prof. Jumani has held several senior management positions, including Acting President of IIUI, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Director Distance Education, Director Institute of Professional Development, and Chairman Department of Education. He is Author/Co-Author of more than 100 research papers in the journals of repute with a credit of 99 conference papers, and writer of 11 chapters which are part of national and regional curriculum. He has also a privilege of being on the technical/advisory panel of many international conferences and has himself organized national and international conferences. He has been guest speaker/Keynote speaker and presenter of papers in many national and international conferences.

Prof. Jumani is Post-Doc in Distance Education from Deakin University, Australia and Doctorate in Distance Education from Allama Iqbal Open University Pakistan. He has also completed certification in Educational Leadership from Nottingham University UK, Training for Impact from Maastricht University Netherlands, and Modern Distance Education from Jilin University, Changchun, China.

Prof. Jumani is member of several national and international committees and professional bodies. Moreover, he is member of different national and international professional organizations/ associations in the field of education and training. Prof Jumani is currently Editor of International Journal of Distance Education and eLearning as well as International Journal of Innovation in Teaching and Learning. He has been Editor of Asian Journal of Distance Education. He has successfully supervised more than 20 PhD and 32 MS scholars.

He possesses experience of running projects of USAID, EU and UNESO. He was Principal Investigator from Pakistan of EU funded project BLTEAE (Blended Learning for Teacher Educators of Asia and Europe). He is one of the Editors of international report “Talent Ecosystem for Digital Transformation: Insight report on ICT in higher education and TVET in the Middle East and Pakistan and Founding member of MESH.Guides.

His knowledge is not limited to the public sector reforms in education but has been engaged in policy consultation process taking into account different social and political dimensions, designing programs, recruitment policies and education financing. He has been involved in designing and implementation of distance education, non-formal and teacher education programs.

With a background in teaching, research, policy and management, and a vast array of public and private sector management experience, Dr. Jumani offers invaluable skills and expertise.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Beata Godejord holds the position of Associate Professor at Nord University Business School, Norway. Her educational background combines Teacher Education, English Philology, Pedagogy of Culture, Media Pedagogy, and Strategic Issues in Management in an Integrated European Context. In her PhD work she integrated theoretical approaches from sociology, pedagogy, linguistics, and online ethnography to explore communicative and cultural practices in an online setting. In her postdoctoral project she investigated communicative and collaborative practices in cross-functional teams towards the possibility of involving knowledge media for their enhancement. Her expertise is in questions of socio-cultural aspects of new technologies and their pedagogical consequences. Her research interests concentrate around knowledge practices and knowledge process in digital communications contexts, with particular focus on mechanisms supportive to connective knowledge. Her project work experience is in the areas of Digital Game-Based Learning and Mobile Learning, and her specific research interests concentrate on social learning and educational practices supporting the development of metacognitive skills as well as reflective practice. She was involved in international research and educational cooperation with universities in Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey, within the framework of Norwegian and European Commission financed projects. Currently she is involved in project work on student-active and peer learning financed by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.

Dr. Daniel Zeiss is currently working as an associate professor at the faculty for nursing and health sciences at Nord University, Norway, where he is a permanent staff member in the research group “Drugs and drug management”.

Dr. Daniel Zeiss has his professional background in the field of pharmacy, with a master degree from the University of Freiburg, Germany, followed by a doctorate work within Pharmaceutics at the University of Tromsø, Norway. Zeiss received his doctorate with his thesis “Ion Exchangers in Drug Delivery: Thermodynamic and Kinetic Aspects of the Drug/Resin – Interaction”, where he studied binding properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients to ion exchange materials.

During his career, Zeiss has been passionately interested in promoting student activity in teaching situations, especially within topics in natural sciences and technology, which are often taught in more traditional, lecture-based manner. Zeiss has been engaged in developing several student-active teaching methods, both on digital platforms, and in the classroom.

He is part of the project group, receiving funding from the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Direktoratet for internasjonalisering og kvalitetsutvikling i høgare utdanning; DIKU) in 2022, for developing a student-active study program in pharmacy, mainly based on peer learning and peer assessment, with the goal of a) strengthening generic skills and b) emphasizing the progression of the study program by a stronger interdisciplinary relation between basic and advanced courses.

He works as a full-time lecturer at the Universitas Kristen Indonesia, at the doctoral degree in Law study program. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Law (S.H.) at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Kristen Indonesia, Jakarta (1986), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the Indonesian European University, IEU, Jakarta-Belgium (1991), Master in Law (M.H.) at the Faculty of Law. Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung (2006) and Doctorate degree of Law Studies (Doktor/Ph.D.) at Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung (2008) with a dissertation titled “The Legal Concept of Secondary Financing Facility for Housing in the Indonesian Legal System”. Associate Professor Lamhot Naibaho,

SPEECH TITLE: “English Language Laerning Model.”

BIOGRAPHY

Lamhot Naibaho was born on November 18, 1985 in Buluduri, a village in Laepari District, Dairi Sidikalang Regency, North Sumatra. The sixth child of seven children by the husband and wife, Mr. Lamasi Naibaho with Sonti Aritonang. In 1999 he had completed primary education at SD N 030404, then in 1999 he continued his studies at the junior high school level at SMP Negeri 2 Laeparira and finished in 2002. After that, he returned to continue his studies at the senior high school level at State Senior High School 1 Sidikalang in 2002 and completed in 2005. In 2005, he was accepted at one of the state universities in Medan (UNIMED) in the English Education Department by optaining a PPA scholarship, and was able to complete his studies on time and with IP Cum laude in 2009. He was not satisfied with the education he had achieved, in 2010 he continued his studies at the Postgraduate Program at the State University of Medan, and also selected at the right time with the highest GPA (4.00) in 2012. After that, he returned to continue his studies at the Doctoral Education Level at the State University of Jakarta in 2012 until now. In 2015, he decided to marry Geby Arni Siregar, and they have had a daughter named Ivana Helsa Naibaho. He has been working in national and international institution, and until today, he become a lecturer in English at Christian University of Indonesia. He has earned many achievements both from educational institutions, government agencies, and also private institutions, such as the Prima Essential English Course, Medan State University, APKASI, Ary Suta Research Center, PT. Semen Indonesia, NGO-Caritas Switzerland, International Organization for Migrant. In addition, he has been invited as keynote and invited speaker in many of national and international conferences, and he has experiences in writing and presenting his writings at national and international seminars such as the Northern Linguistic Society (MLU) in 2012, TEFL Asia in the Philippines in 2013, ICALLE in the Philippines in 2014, ECE in London in 2015, Ary Suta Research Center in 2014, and many other conferences.
